The UN Mission in , (UNMIL), has supported the Liberia National Police (LNP) to restore calm and order on the Firestone Rubber Plantation in Harbel, Margibi County , following Friday’s violent disturbances that resulted in at least five people being injured. Some properties were damaged and looted, including a health centre.

Monrovia, Liberia - More than one million days of work will be created for skilled and unskilled labourers from small communities in rural Liberia through a joint road rehabilitation initiative led by the Liberian Government with the support of the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), the World Bank, the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the World Food Programme (WFP) and the International Labour Organization (ILO). During last year’s dry season a similar initiative provided 700,000 working days.
