In response to an affirmative answer given by Liberia’s controversial Auditor General to a question from Representative Nohn Kidau of Nimba County last at the budget hearing Tuesday as to whether the Auditor General brought his queries and concerns to the preparers of the budget before carving his report, the Director of the Budget said Mr. John Morlu has committed Perjury (lied under oath).

As the high unemployment rate in Liberia remains unhindered, the country’s Vice President, Joseph N. Boakai, says one of the greatest challenges facing the Unity Party-led government is the creation of jobs. The Vice President says there is lack of jobs in the post war West African state to reduce the high unemployment rate the country is faced with. Past UN statistics puts the unemployment rate of Liberia at 85 percent with a population of at least 3.5 million.

Human Rights advocate J .Melvin Page says news report that President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has not reshuffled her cabinet because she has not find the caliber of individuals she needs is worrisome Mr. Page said if this is the tangible reason for which President Sirleaf cannot reshuffle her government then it indicates that Liberia is heading for UN Trusteeship.
