  Following series of consultations and debates among members of the Lower House, coupled with numerous appeals from the people Liberia and the National Elections Commission (NEC), the House of Representative passed the bill to set the threshold at 46.000, per consistency.

West African journalists have been admonished to be cautious in reporting on conflict situations in the sub region that has been engulfed by wars and instabilities for the past two decades.

The Government of Liberia, through its Embassy near Washington, DC, is holding townhall meetings with Diaspora Liberians in six major US cities with large population of Liberians to dialogue on the rebuilding of their country.  The gathering is part of the Government's strategy to engage Liberians both at home and abroad on the Lift Liberia Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS).
