Commending NGOs In Lofa
Published on March 28, 2007Email To Friend    Print Version

ONE COUNTY THAT suffered the worse destruction of physical infrastructures during the years of civil war is Lofa County.

THE COUNTY EXPERIENCED the worse factional fighting in every city, town, village and helmet.

ALMOST ALL FACTIONS to the civil conflict, from the defunct NPFL to the erstwhile ULIMO factions and LURD forces were one way or the other engaged in the destruction of the infrastructures of that county.

THE ACTIVITIES OF these factions did not only destroyed the infrastructures, but also the lives of many and the displacement of thousands of citizens from the county to crowded displace camps like Mamu I,II and III.

THE SUCCESSFUL RETURN and resettlement of these people have been mainly facilitated by the NGOs operating in that country

CURRENTLY, THE IRC, Concern Worldwide, the JRS among others, have been helping with the renovation of damaged infrastructures and the construction of new ones since the war ended.

IN LIGHT OF the efforts and support given by these NGOs to the post war reconstruction of the country, we wish to commend them for their support in spearheading the reconstruction in the County.

THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS WILL go a long way to relieve the government of
Some of the numerous post war reconstruction challenges.
