The General Manager of the Third World Construction Company Enterprises (TWCCE) and Proprietor of the Holiday Inn Hotel on Carey Street, Mr. H.M. Jawhary recently laid wreath on the remains of his late wife, Madam Omaya Jawhary in Houston, Texas, the United States of America. The late Omaya Jawhary, according to reports, died on February 11, 2009 of heart failure few days after the Supreme Court ruled against the Holiday Inn Hotel in a case involving Cllr. James A.A. Pierre. Mr. Jawhary speaking to reporters said his trip to the United States of America to visit the grave site of his fallen wife, the reunion with his children and the visit to his 86 years ailing mother in Lebanon was made possible by the Grace of the Almighty God. Speaking in a pathetic tone, Mr. Jawhary said “My wife met her untimely death as a result of the fractional justice in Liberia that was melted out against us”. He said he is downhearted with the death of his wife though is something that was destined by God. Mr. Jawhary who has lived in Liberia for the past 46 years said he was warmly embraced by his family members who turn out to sympathize with him for the loss of his lovely wife. In a related development, Mr. Jawhary has buttressed recent calls by the President of the Independent and Human Rights Center, Mr. Melvin Page strongly warning Liberians, residents and foreign partners not to fall prey to anyone who might be considering doing business transaction with them as it relates to the Holiday Inn Liberia Incorporated, saying, the matter of the Hotel is still in court. Speaking to journalists recently at his Ashmun Street office, the tough-talking human rights activist said he was blowing the warning trumpet to put the general public on their alert against any business transaction especially with the Holiday Inn Liberia Incorporated which he (Page) considered as a risk and said the issue of the Holiday Inn still remains the property of its owners, since indeed there has been no judgment on the hotel. He cautioned that Mr. Jawhary, President, Chairman, and members of the Board of Directors along with shareholders of the Holiday Inn Hotel Liberia Incorporated have warned that nobody should do business with anybody concerning the Holiday Inn Liberia Incorporated. “Anyone doing business with any purported owner will be doing so at his/her own risk. Meanwhile, Mr. Jawhary has again called on the UP government to make good its promises concerning the payment of domestic debts for services rendered to past and present governments. According to him, government owes both Third World Construction Company and Holiday the amount of US$57million and US$2million respectively.
