Firestone Accelerates Additional Housing Construction
Published on October 23, 2010Email To Friend    Print Version

The Management of Firestone Liberia has embarked on the construction of additional housing units at Harbel Loop, Harbelville, Harbel Rise Two and other communities within the concession area for its dedicated employees and their dependents. Several Liberian construction firms are participating in the company's housing program.

Speaking recently at one of the project sites in Harbel, the General Manager of Satisfied Construction, Inc. Mr. Kerwin B. Jehmahwuo, indicated that with the level of support he is getting from Firestone he is confident that the housing units will be completed soon.

Mr. Jehmahwuo expressed gratitude to the Management for granting him the contract, and promised to do everything possible to construct the quality of housing units the company needs.

He also praised Firestone for awarding contracts to Liberian owned construction companies .” Contracting us Liberians helps to reduce the unemployment rate. This provides the opportunity for us to hire our fellow Liberians,” Mr. Jehmahwuo asserted.

. According to housing and engineering authorities of Firestone Liberia, these new housing units, when completed, would be immediately occupied by employees and their dependants.

For his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Barclay and Associates, Inc., Mr. Martin Togbah, lauded the efforts of Firestone Liberia for accelerating the construction of additional housing units for its employees. He commended his workforce for the level of commitment in ensuring the successful completion of earlier housing projects in various communities within the concession area.

Meanwhile Firestone Liberia is seeking qualified Liberian contractors to effectively carry out its planned housing projects for calendar year 2011.

According to the Management of Firestone, eligible local companies will undertake construction of the housing projects and provide project management and oversight, including the provision of skill laborers, equipment, and logistics necessary to fully perform all “Foundation-to-Finish” work for assigned family housing unit(s) within the concession area.
