The idiomatic expression which says “Give flowers to those who deserve it while alive,” came to fruition on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at the St. Paul Catholic Parish in Banjor when a servant of the Lord was crowned as Youth of the Year 2010/2011 by the Youth Department of that church. Sister Miatta K. Tarlor of the Choir Department of the Church was honored for her dedicated and relentless services to the church. According to the Youth Department, Sister Tarlor’s selection as Youth of the year came as no surprise, as the honoree has tirelessly devoted her time to work for the Lord, and further urged her to explicitly execute the confidence reposed in her. Crowning the honoree, Sister Agnes Nimpson admonished youth of the church to emulate the good examples of Sister Tarlor and reminded them that the upliftment of the church lies squarely in the hands of the youth. Sister Nimpson then cautioned the Honoree to remain steadfast as she is now serving as role model for the youth. Speaking shortly following her crowning, Sister Miatta K. Tarlor extended thanks to the youth and the church as a whole for her selection and promised to uphold the trust, saying, “I have been once again re-invigorated and I promise to do my utmost best in carrying out my Lord’s work.” The honoring program was witnessed and blessed by the Parish Priests-In-Charge, Reverend Fathers Patrick Swaray, CSSP, and Albert H. Jusu, CSSP. Writes Peter B. Amara Cell: 077315192
