| Ellen Congratulates Turkey, Czech Republic on National Days |

The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has expressed optimism that the cordial relations between Liberia and the Republic of Turkey will grow stronger in the years ahead as both Governments work together to promote social justice, equal opportunity and human dignity for all people under the framework of the United nations and other international forums. According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Johnson Sirleaf made the statement earlier this week when she congratulated the Government and People of Turkey on the historic occasion marking the observance of the National Day of that country. In a message to her Turkish counterpart, His Excellency Abdullah Gul, President Johnson Sirleaf extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Government and People of Turkey on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and wished that the Government and people of Turkey will continue to enjoy the blessings of peace and prosperity under the progressive leadership of President Abdullah Gul. In a related development, President Johnson Sirleaf has also congratulated the Government and People of the Czech Republic on the observance of the National Day of that country. In a message to His Excellency Vaclav Klaus, the Liberian leader further expressed hope that the two countries will both work together to strengthen the cordial relationship that exist between the two nations as both Governments strive to promote social justice, equal opportunity, respect for human dignity and good governance. She then wished for President Vaclav Klaus personal well-being and wished for the People of the Czech Republic continuous peace, unity and prosperity.
