Ellen Captures CDCians In Bong - Vow To Campaign For Her
Published on November 02, 2011Email To Friend    Print Version

A mass of partisan of the main opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) in Bong County have defected their party to support the reelection of the standard bearer of the ruling Unity Party (UP) President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in next Tuesday's presidential runoff polling.
The newly converted UP partisans said they will go all out to win more CDC partisans for the reelection of President Sirleaf because they now know what is good for them after carefully observing happenings in the country following the first round of voting on October 11.
“We will go all out, in the towns, in the villages and in the forest to campaign for you Madam President,” the defected CDC partisans spokesman Alhassan S. Koisiah declared in Saukoko Town over the weekend, when President Sirleaf took her campaign to Bong County.
“We will go all out to for the UP more than what we did for the CDC in the first round of voting,” Koisiah, the Assistant Secretary General for Mobilization in the district said.
“Opposition CDCians said [they] are now in support of the reelection of Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for peaceful and better Liberia. Mama we have learnt lesson and we will vote for you yah…Mama,” the placard Koisiah and his followers displayed read.
He said they have learnt enough lessons and it was time for them to make the right choice, but declined on whether he and colleagues were baited to pledge support to the UP. “Nobody told us to do this. We have our senses correct, we have eyes to see and we have thought wisely and seen what our country needs. It's not about party,” he stated emphatically.
President Sirleaf lauded the group for its move and support and called on them to remain peaceful during the campaign and electoral processes, ensuring that the peace in Liberia is on course.
